Feels Like Summer

I think this is the happiest I look in this post but that's only because my eyes are ultra sensitive to light and if I smile too much my eyes sometimes tend to squint so hence why I look like I'm about to beat someone. 

After months of hibernating my legs finally went bare today. Although we're in between winter and spring it already feels like we're onto summer here in Texas.

Creo que esta foto es en la que mas me veo mas feliz hecho a que mis ojos son super sensibles a la luz y a veces cuando sonrío se me cierran un poco mas, pero es por eso que me veo como que estoy a punto de pegarle a alguien. 

Después de meses sin que mis piernas vieran luz, hoy decidi ponerme esta tunica. Aunque ahorita estamos entre el invierno y la primavera ya se siente casi como si fuera verano aquí en Tejas.

Asian Memories

Last night JL and I went out with some friends and somehow we began to reminisce about our past summer trip to China and southeast Asia.  It made me want to go all over again. The cultures were so rich everywhere we went and it was always interesting to learn about the history within each country. During the entire trip we learned about food, lifestyle, cultural beauty, and the not so beautiful, but what can I say... it's always an adventure when you're traveling. 

These are only a few of the memories I brought back with me. 

Anoche JL y yo salimos con unos amigos y empezamos a recordar el viaje que hicimos en el verano a China y al sur este de Asia. Con tantos recuerdos me dieron ganas de ir de nuevo. Cada país que íbamos tenia su propia cultura y siempre era interesante aprender un poco de la historia de cada país. Durante todo el viaje aprendimos sobre comida, estilo de vida, lo lindo de cada cultura y también lo no tan lindo, pero que puedo decir...el viajar siempre es una aventura.

 Estos solo son unos de mis tantos recuerdos del viaje.

This week has been pretty depressing as my doggy became ill and I had to put her to sleep. She was 15 (105 in human years) and I'd had her since I was eight, so I pretty much grew up with her. I just can't imagine her no longer being there. Our pets become such a big part of the family that when they're gone it's like losing a family member and it is just so sad. Although she was older than me I still saw her like my little baby.

Yesterday night JL and I went out to dinner to celebrate our six and a half year anniversary (yes, we do count the halves) and it was Italian that called for our, or at least my appetite.We hadn't been able to have a date night in a while due to our busy work lives, so it was nice to take a night to ourselves and enjoy of a delightful dinner and a movie.

Anoche JL y yo fuimos a cenar para celebrar nuestro aniversario de seis años y medio (así es, si contamos los medios) y fue comida Italiana la que llamo a nuestro, o por lo menos a mi apetito. Ya hace tiempo que no habíamos podido disfrutar de una cena juntos dado a que siempre estamos muy ocupados con el trabajo, así que fue muy lindo poder tomar una noche para nosotros y disfrutar de una agradable película y cena.

I wore this outfit yesterday but I was unable to take pictures until last night (everyone was at work during the day, crazy right?), so please excuse the photo quality as some of the photos came out a bit blurry. Anyway, I combined this neon yellow top with these leggings to give them a little contrast. I think it works don't you?

Happy Valentines Day! For all you love birds this is the day to show your loved ones how much you love them with candy, stuffed animals, perhaps balloons and cards, or even with a simple hug and kiss.  Although I've happily been in a relationship for quite a while now I think there exists a pretty controversial subject when it comes to this day. Some hate it, some love it. I personally don't see it as a day for me to say to my boyfriend how much I love my him (he knows since I tell him everyday), but instead as my parent's anniversary. Today they celebrate their 25th anniversary and I feel truly happy they've made it this far.  

Feliz Dia de San Valentin! Para aquellos enamorados, hoy es el dia en el que pueden mostrarle a sus seres queridos cuanto los quieren con dulces, monitos de peluche, tal vez con tarjetas y globos o hasta con un simple beso y abrazo. Aunque llevo una larga y feliz relación con mi novio creo que existe mucha controversia sobre este día. Algunos están de acuerdo y otros no. Yo en lo personal no lo veo como un día para decirle a mi novio cuanto lo quiero (el sabe porque se le digo todos los días) pero en vez como el aniversario de mis papas. Hoy celebran 25 años juntos y me siento muy feliz por ellos.

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it to any shows this season but I am hoping next year will be a different story. Okay, so I didn't go through with dyeing my virgin hair (I've never dyed it before!) or adding any drastic highlights, but I did get a haircut. For some reason I can't really see myself with any other color than my natural color which is practically black, although in this post I noticed some reddish highlights the sun revealed. 

Bueno, al fin no me pinte mi cabello virgen (jamas me lo he pintado!) ni me puse rayos drásticos ni nada por el estilo, pero si me hice un corte. Por alguna razón no me puedo ver con otro tinte mas que mi color natural que por cierto es casi negro, aunque hoy note unos rayos rojizos que el sol revelo.
